11 O PERSEGUIDO – DIÁLOGO COM AS SOMBRAS HERMÍNIO C. MIRANDA
A vítima da obsessão é sempre uma alma endívidada perante a lei.
De alguma forma grave, no passado mais recente, ou mais remoto, desrespeitou seriamente a lei universal da fraternidade, vindo a colher, como conseqüência inexorável, o sofrimento.
A falta cometida contra o semelhante expoe seu autor aos azares do resgate, mesmo que a vítima o tenha perdoado imedia tamente.
Muitas vezes, a vingança como que se despersonaliza, passando a ser exercida não por aquele que foi prejudicado, mas por alguém em seu nome, ainda que não autorizado por ele.
Não importa que o perseguido, ou obsidiado, esteja na carne ou no mundo espiritual.
Não importa que se lembre ou não da ofensa.
Não importa que a falta tenha sido cometida nesta vida ou em remotas existências.
O vingador implacável acaba descobrindo o seu antigo algoz, mesmo que este se oculte sob os mais bem elaborados disfarces, ligando-se a ele por largo tempo, vida após vida, aqui e no Espaço, alucinado pelo ódio, que não conhece limites nem barreiras.

Pereira, um caso desses:
“Aterrorizado ante as vinditas atrozes movidas pelos Espíritos de seus antigos amos de Lisboa, o Espírito João-José preferiu ocultar-se numa encarnação de formas femininas, esperançado de que, assim disfarçado, não pudesse ser reconhecido.
Enganou-se, porém, visto que sua própria organização psíquica atraiçoou-o, modelando traços fisionômicos e anormalidades físicas idênticas aos que arrastara na época citada.

Uma vez identificado o antigo devedor, mesmo sob formas femininas, desencadeou-se sobre ele toda a tormenta da obsessão.
Temos tido, em nossa experiência direta, casos semelhantes.
Um foi particularmente doloroso e aflitivo, porque os compromissos do obsidiado eram muito graves e suas dívidas cármicas acusavam reincidências lamentáveis, que o deslocavam da posição de ex-algoz para a de joguete impotente de implacáveis vingadores.
Começamos a cuidar dele, na esperança de minorar-lhe as dores, quando ainda encarnado.
Por algum tempo, conseguimos aliviar a pressão que se exercia, dia e noite, sobre ele e sua família.
Em nosso grupo, assistimos a um trágico e incessante desfile de companheiros desarmonizados que enxameavam em torno dele, cada qual mais revoltado e odiento.
Seus compromissos eram tantos, e tão sérios, que não conseguimos livrá-lo das suas dores, embora tenhamos alcançado, com a graça de Deus, apaziguar muitos dos seus temíveis carrascos e atraí-los para as tarefas de recuperação.
Como o seu caso tinha implicações profundas com o nosso plano geral de trabalho, segundo nos explicaram nossos mentores, tratamos dele por muito tempo ainda, havendo neste livro várias referências esparsas sobre ele, com os cuidados necessários para não identificá-lo.
Verdadeira multidão de Espíritos atormentava este irmão, jovem ainda na carne.
Ao que me disse, certa vez, um de seus obsessores, custaram um pouco a identificá-lo em sua nova roupagem.
Uma vez, porém, localizado, reuniram-se em torno dele, num cerco implacável, que durava as vinte e quatro horas do dia, aqueles que ainda se sentiam com suas contas por ajustar com ele.
Seguiam-no nos seus afazeres diários e o atormentavam durante o desprendimento do sono, espetavam-lhe “agulhas” de todos os tamanhos, impunham-lhe longos períodos de alienação, sopravam-lhe constantemente a idéia do suicídio, tomavam-lhe o corpo, inúmeras vezes, para as
mais tresloucadas atitudes, para fugas, caminhadas, crises de mutismo; postavam-se diante de sua visão espiritual, sob formas monstruosas; neutralizavam o efeito de intensivo tratamento médico e espiritual; indispunham-no com a família e descontrolavam-lhe o pensamento, descoordenando-lhe as idéias.
Ao que nos foi indicado, em tempos da Roma antiga, exerceu, com destaque, o poder, e ajudou a desencadear uma das mais terríveis perseguições aos cristãos.
É certo que suas vítimas daquela época o perdoaram, se foram realmente seguidores fiéis do Cristo.
Mas, e os outros, que lhe guardaram rancor? A quantos teria ele mandado tirar a vida, os bens, os amores, as esperanças, sem que estivessem preparados para suportar essas perdas, com equilíbrio e resignação?
Ao cabo de alguns anos de implacável perseguição de seus adversários, enceguecidos pelo ódio, e a despeito de todo o cuidado de que foi cercado, o pobre companheiro desencarnou tragicamente.
A perseguição continuou, talvez ainda mais encarniçada, do outro lado da vida.
Estava agora mais exposto, mais acessível àabordagem de seus algozes, pois as obsessões não se limitam a atingir os encarnados.
Ao contrário, os desencarnados são mais vulneráveis do que os encarnados, pois estes dispõem do “esconderijo” do corpo físico e se acham beneficiados pelo esquecimento temporário de suas faltas, o que, de certa forma, lhes dá alguma trégua, em virtude do descondicionamento vibratório.
A lembrança constante dos crimes que cometemos nos mantém sintonizados com os perseguidores, e eles tudo fazem para que não nos esqueçamos dos erros praticados.
Enquanto estamos remoendo nossas faltas, continuamos ligados aos obsessores.
Devemos, então, esquecer de tudo, como se nada tivesse acontecido? Não, certamente.
O arrependimento, porém, tem que ser construtivo, ou seja, ele não deve paralisar-nos.
Cientes ou não da gravidade das nossas faltas — e, sem dúvida alguma, praticamo-las abundantemente no passado — é imperioso que nos voltemos para as tarefas de reconstrução interior, de dedicação ao semelhante que sofre, de policiamento de nossas atitudes, palavras e pensamentos.
É preciso orar, servir, buscar reacender a chamazinha do amor, que existe em todos nós.
— Vai e não peques mais — disse o Cristo.
Por muito tempo se pensou que isso fosse apenas um tema sugestivo, para pregar sermões bonitos; hoje sabemos da profunda realidade que encerra o ensino evangélico.
O Cristo sempre ligou o problema do sofrimento, físico ou espiritual, ao do erro.
— Estás curado — diz Ele ao paralítico, a quem mandou tomar a sua cama e andar —, não peques mais, para que não te suceda algo ainda pior.
(João, 5:14.
)
Dessa forma, o erro — que os evangelistas chamam de pecado — acarreta o sofrimento, a punição, o resgate.
Não que tenhamos de nos redimir necessariamente através do mecanismo da dor.
A dor não é inevitável, porque o processo da libertação pode dar-se também por meio do serviço ao próximo, do aperfeiçoamento moral, da prece e da vigilància.
Da mesma forma, aquele que foi ferido pelo seu companheiro, por mais gravemente que o tenha sido, não deve nem precisa tomar a vingança em suas mãos, para que o outro resgate a sua falta.
A lei do equilíbrio universal se incumbirá dele, senão hoje, no próximo século, ou no próximo milênio, O resgate pode ser despersonalizado, isto é, ninguém deve nem precisa arvorar-se em seu executor.
Isto não significa que, ao sermos ofendidos, devamos transferir o nosso impulso de vingança às leis de Deus.
São muitos os que não tomam realmente a vingança em suas mãos, mas pensam, na intimidade do seu ser, com o mesmo rancor:
— Ele pagará!
É verdade, ele pagará, seja com a moeda da dor, seja com a do amor, mas se emitimos o nosso pensamento de vingança e ódio, continuamos ligados ao erro, reassumimos os compromissos que poderíamos ter resgatado com aquela humilhação ou aquele sofrimento, pois é certo que ninguém sofre por acaso, dado que não há reparos dolorosos como forma de punição aos inocentes.
Neste ponto, mais de uma lição encontramos, ainda e sempre, no Evangelho de Jesus.
E é por isso que nenhum trabalho de desobsessão, digno e sério, deve ser intentado sem apoio nos ensinamentos do Cristo.
A questão é tão Importante, tão vital à problemática do espírito, que Jesus a imortalizou no texto da oração dominical, o Pai Nosso:

perdoa-nos as nossas dívidas — relata Mateus, 6:12 —, assim como perdoamos os nossos devedores.

No versículo 14, desse mesmo capítulo, Jesus é ainda mais explícito:
— “Que se perdoardes aos homens as suas ofensas, também vos perdoará o vosso Pai Celestial; mas se não perdoardes aos homens, tampouco vosso Pai perdoará as vossas ofensas.
”
Sob as luzes da Doutrina Espírita, o texto adquire uma dimensão que antes não havíamos notado.
É que o perdão que concedemos àquele que nos feriu não lava o ofensor do seu pecado, ou seja, da sua falta, mas libera o ofendido, que, com o perdão, evita que se reabra o círculo vicioso do crime para resgatar o crime.
Nesse angustioso círculo de fogo e lágrimas, de revolta e dor, ficam presas, por séculos e séculos, multidões eneeguecidas pelo ódio e nunca saciadas pela vingança, pois a vingança não sacia coisa alguma, ela apenas junta mais lenha à fogueira que arde.
Por muito tempo achamos que toda essa doutrina do perdão fosse apenas um belo conjunto de figuras de retórica.
A Doutrina dos Espíritos veio propor-nos um entendimento infinitamente mais racional e objetivo: o de que o perdão liberta.
Não é uma simples teoria, é uma verdade, que o Cristo nos ensinou, mas que tanto temos relutado em experimentar.
Também neste ponto tivemos, certa vez, uma experiência inesquecível.
Um companheiro desencarnado, em lamentável estado de desorientação, perseguido por uma pequena multidão de implacáveis obsessores, acabou por ser recolhido pelos trabalhadores do bem.
Alguns de seus perseguidores foram tratados e reeducados moralmente, como ensina Kardec.
Outros se afastaram, por sentir que a vítima punha-se fora de seu alcance.
Alguns deles continuaram a ser levados ao grupo de desobsessão, a fim de serem doutrinados, e, no desespero em que viviam, descarregavam todo o seu rancor e agressividade sobre os componentes da equipe de socorro, especialmente contra o doutrinador, por ser este o porta-voz, aquele que fala e procura convencê-los a abandonar seus propósitos, que eles julgam justíssimos.
Pois bem.
Certa noite, volta, para receber os nossos cuidados, o companheiro que havia sido recolhido.
Estava novamente em poder de um impiedoso hipnotizador, de quem já o havíamos subtraído, a duras penas.
Ele próprio confessou o seu drama: recaira na faixa vibratória de seus perseguidores, ao deixar tombar as guardas que o protegiam.
No decorrer do diálogo revelou-se mais impaciente do que nunca, exigindo, quase, solução imediata para o seu caso, pedindo a presença de parentes, sem nenhum desejo de entregar-se à prece e, acima de tudo, pronto para a vingança! “Assim que estivesse em condições” — e exatamente por isso não conseguia alcançar tais condições — “ele”, o obsessor, “iria ver.

Meu Deus, como poderemos negar o perdão ao que nos feriu, se o exigimos para nós, exatamente para as dores que resultaram da nossa imprudência em ferir os outros?
O obsidiado só pensa em livrar-se de seus adversários, a qualquer preço, mas se esquece, ou ignora, que ele também está em dívida perante a lei, pois, de outra maneira, não estaria sujeito à obsessão, o obsessor, por sua vez, procura punir o companheiro que o fez sofrer, deslembrado de que ele próprio criou, com a sua incúria, as condições para merecer a dor que lhe é infligida.
Julga-se no direito de cobrar, pensando assim cumprir a lei de Deus, para que a “justiça” se faça.
E, de fato, a lei do equilíbrio universal coloca o ofensor ao alcance da punição, que é, em suma, a oportunidade do reajuste.
Por isso, dizia o nosso Paulo, em sua penetrante sabedoria:
— Tudo me é lícito, mas nem tudo me convém.
Com freqüência, os perseguidos apresentam-se em nossos grupos, nos primeiros momentos da libertação.
Quantos dramas, Senhor! Vêm transidos de pavor, cansados de prisões tenebrosas, fugindo de obsessões que lhes parecem terem durado uma eternidade.
Esgotaram todo o cálice de profundas amarguras, sofreram todos os tormentos, passaram por todas as humilhações, submeteram-se a caprichos e desmandos, cumpriram ordens iníquas.
Um desses nos disse que estivera num dos calabouços infectos das trevas, onde nem chorar podia.
Passaram-se séculos.
Só nos pôde dizer que foi um sacerdote e que traiu alguém.
Sente agora o peso de um enorme arrependimento e, quando convidado a orar comigo, não tem coragem de dirigir-se a Deus, pois se julga o último dos réprobos.
A muito custo, consegue murmurar uma palavra:
– Jesus!.

E fala baixinho, consigo mesmo:
— Que sacrilégio, meu Deus!
Outro, também egresso de um calabouço, não conseguia articular a palavra; fazia entender-se por gestos.
Trazia um peso na cabeça, que o obrigava a manter-se curvado sobre si mesmo e, além de tudo, estava cego.
Um terceiro apresenta-se com as “carnes” roídas pelos “ratos” e “baratas”, após um longo período de reclusão.
Quase todos trazem ainda no perispírito os estigmas de suas penas: cegueira, deformações e mutilações, e, na mente, a lembrança de torturas e horrores inconcebíveis.
Subitamente, ao cabo de agonias seculares, durante as quais resgataram-se através da dor, escapam à sanha de seus perseguidores, tornam-se inacessíveis aos seus processos, evadem-se das masmorras e libertam-se do domínio magnético sob o qual se encontravam.
Em suma: a Lei disse o “Basta!” a que até mesmo o mais terrível perseguidor tem de obedecer, ao assistir, impotente, à escapada da vítima.
Chegou ao fim o processo corretivo e reajustador.
Antes, era impossível: ninguém conseguiria interromper o curso da dor.
Este é o exemplo vivo da experiência mediúnica.
Espíritos superiores, e já redimidos, seguem-nos os passos, até mesmo às profundezas da dor mais horrenda, sem poderem interferir senão com uma prece, ou uma vibração amorosa, pois o pobre companheiro transviado nem mesmo a presença dos amigos maiores pode perceber.
Chegado, porém, o momento, tudo se precipita.
Os mensageiros do bem estão apenas à espera de uma prece, ainda que somente esboçada, de um impulso de arrependimento, de um gesto de boa-vontade ou de perdão.
Lembram-se da advertência do Cristo?
— Reconcilia-te com teu adversário enquanto estás a caminho com ele, para que não te arraste ele ao juiz, e o juiz te entregue ao oficial de justiça, e este te ponha no cárcere.
Digo-te que não sairás de lá enquanto não tiveres pago o último centavo.
Não está bem claro?
E muitos ainda acham que o Evangelho é só literatura.
