Mais tarde, Zaqueu se tornaria colaborador em uma comunidade de Cesareia.

Contudo, seguir Jesus significa entender porque nascemos, porque estamos na Terra neste exato momento, como nos devemos portar frente aos embates do cotidiano.
E o grande convite do Homem de Nazaré é para que sejamos bons pais, bons filhos, bons cônjuges, bons profissionais, bons vizinhos, bons amigos.
Ele nos solicita engajamento na luta contra o homem velho, que ainda carregamos, com as chagas do orgulho, do egoísmo, da inveja, da vaidade, do ciúme, do personalismo e da indiferença ao sofrimento alheio.
Ele nos convida a sermos Seus cooperadores no amparo aos menos afortunados, estendendo braços amigos aos desesperançados.
Para tanto, nos encaminha corações aflitos para que lhes ofereçamos a palavra amiga, o conselho amoroso e sem julgamento.
