V – PRECES PELOS DOENTES E PELOS OBSIDIADOS
PELOS DOENTES
77. PREFÁCIO. As doenças fazem parte das provas e das vicissitudes da vida terrena, são inerentes à grosseria da nossa natureza material e à inferioridade do mundo que habitamos. As paixões e os excessos de toda ordem semeiam em nós germens malsãos, às vezes hereditários. Nos mundos mais adiantados, física ou moralmente, o organismo humano, mais depurado e menos material, não está sujeito às mesmas enfermidades e o corpo não é minado surdamente pelo corrosivo das paixões. (Cap. III, n° 9.) Temos, assim, de nos resignar às conseqüências do meio onde nos coloca a nossa inferioridade, até que mereçamos passar a outro. Isso, no entanto, não é de molde a impedir que, esperando tal se dê, façamos o que de nós depende para melhorar as nossas condições atuais. Se, porém, mau grado aos nossos esforços, não o conseguirmos, o Espiritismo nos ensina a suportar com resignação os nossos passageiros males.
Se Deus não houvesse querido que os sofrimentos corporais se dissipassem ou abrandassem em certos casos, não houvera posto ao nosso alcance meios de cura. A esse respeito, a sua solicitude, em conformidade com o instinto de conservação, indica que é dever nosso procurar esses meios e aplicá-los.
A par da medicação ordinária, elaborada pela Ciência, o magnetismo nos dá a conhecer o poder da ação fluídica e o Espiritismo nos revela outra força poderosa na mediunidade curadora e a influência da prece. (Ver, no Cap. XXVI, a notícia sobre a mediunidade curadora.)
78. Prece. (Para ser dita pelo doente.) Senhor, pois que és todo justiça, a enfermidade que te aprouve mandar-me necessariamente eu a merecia, visto que nunca impões sofrimento algum sem causa. Confio-me, para minha cura, à tua infinita misericórdia. Se for do teu agrado restituir-me a saúde, bendito seja o teu santo nome. Se, ao contrário, me cumpre sofrer mais, bendito seja ele do mesmo modo. Submeto-me, sem queixas, aos teus sábios desígnios, porquanto o que fazes só pode ter por fim o bem das tuas criaturas.
Dá, ó meu Deus, que esta enfermidade seja para mim um aviso salutar e me leve a refletir sobre a minha conduta. Aceito-a como uma expiação do passado e como uma prova para a minha fé e a minha submissão à tua santa vontade. (Veja-se a prece n° 40.)
79. PRECE. (Pelo doente.) Meu Deus, são impenetráveis os teus desígnios e na tua sabedoria entendeste de afligir a N………… pela enfermidade. Lança, eu te suplico, um olhar de compaixão sobre os seus sofrimentos e digna-te de pôr-lhes termo.
Bons Espíritos, ministros do Onipotente, secundai, eu vos peço, o meu desejo de aliviá-lo, encaminhai o meu pensamento, a fim de que vá derramar um bálsamo salutar em seu corpo e a consolação em sua alma.
Inspirai-lhe a paciência e a submissão à vontade de Deus, dai-lhe a força de suportar suas dores com resignação cristã, a fim de que não perca o fruto desta prova. (Veja-se a prece n° 57.)
