Feriu, atormentou, complicou situações de amigos respeitáveis, sentenciou pessoas inocentes a inquietações inomináveis, guerreou pecadores e santos, justos e injustos…
Surgiu, contudo, um momento em que o Senhor lhe convoca o espírito a outro gênero de batalha – o combate consigo mesmo.

Quebra-se-lhe a espada nas mãos para sempre.
Não tem braços para hostilizar e sim para ajudar e servir.
Caminha, modificado, em sentido inverso. Ao invés de humilhar os outros, dobra a própria cerviz.
Sofre e aperfeiçoa-se no silêncio, com a mesma disposição de trabalho que o caracterizava nos tempos de cegueira.
É apedrejado, açoitado, preso, incompreendido muitas vezes, mas prossegue sempre, ao encontro da Divina Renovação.
